Fiesta Parade Grand Marshal:

Nancy Kirksey Selected to be Fiesta Parade Grand Marshal

Nancy Kirksey has been selected to be the Grand Marshal of the 2018 Woodburn Fiesta Mexicana Parade!  Since moving to Woodburn in 1975, Nancy has worked tirelessly in support of the Woodburn community.  Nancy served on the City Council from 1982-1986 and as Mayor from 1986-1990 and again from 1994-1998.

After completing her final term as Mayor, Nancy has remained active in community affairs and currently serves as the chair of the Woodburn Public Library Board.  Over the years, Nancy has continued to advocate for the residents of Woodburn.  She was instrumental in forming the World Berry Museum, campaigned for multiple school bond measures, and worked hard in support of Teresa Alonso Leon’s election to the Oregon House of Representatives.  Alonso Leon subsequently became the first immigrant Latina elected to the Oregon Legislature.  In announcing the selection, Sifuentez added “Nancy has been a wonderful mentor and a friend. I’m so happy she was nominated and received this honor.”
